Hello friends, If chronic pain and stress are holding you back, here’s a story to inspire you. Rachel came to me when she was struggling to move forward. She was preparing to transition her career, and she also wanted to improve her fitness (and her dancing), but physical limitations and psychological challenges were holding her back. She first heard about me through Tai Chi classes, which she thought could help with nervous system regulation. Through my unique process, which I call Embodied Integration, she began to see how her physical pain and mental struggles were really two sides of the same coin. She valued the opportunity to work at both levels simultaneously. That was the holistic approach that she had been missing. Here’s what Rachel had to say about our work together: “Through very specific physical exercises and energy/emotional release practices over six months, I was able to release stuck negative energy that had been holding me back for so many years. It’s changed my life. I have renewed confidence and drive. Gabriel is wonderful at meeting people where they’re at and inspiring them to move forward. I have redefined my career and I am more active than ever.” It was an honour to help Rachel, as well as countless fellow high-capacity professionals I’ve helped to resolve their physical pain and nervous system redlining so they have renewed energy and capacity to move forward towards what matters to them. If you’re feeling dragged down by chronic pain or a constant buzz of anxiety, you don’t have to keep muscling through on your own. You also don’t have to waste years on methods that treat parts of you in isolation. The process of embodied integration requires commitment and courage. But having the energy and freedom to show up more fully for your life and the people who depend on you is definitely worth it. If you’d like some help moving towards renewed capacity and presence, I have a couple spots open for my free strategy sessions this month. Hello friends, People look for Tai Chi and Kinesiology when they are dealing with pain or injury. So I often meet people when their bodies start to hold them back, often during or after midlife. But mainly the physical challenge is only the tip of the iceberg. What they are really navigating underneath the surface is a crisis of identity. The second half of life is often riddled with major life transitions. It might be kids leaving home, more leadership responsibilities at work, or changes in...
Hello friends, You are more than the sum of your parts. If we accept that as true, then what are you? To be clear, here what I mean by “you” is the individual person. We’ll set aside discussions of “the self” for another time. We can agree that individuals exist, whether or not “the self” is illusory. Let’s also not get bogged down by the nature of the soul or consciousness itself. Any definition of these implies something larger than the individual person. So what is this person we call...
"Man follows the Earth. Earth follows heaven. Heaven follows the Tao. The Tao follows what is natural."- Tao Te Ching ch.25 Hello friends, The fundamental orientation of Tai Chi and Taoism is toward harmony with nature. In practical terms, we can see this through physical training methods that help participants to shed layers of tension and restore an elastic, child-like condition in the body. The same approach can be applied to psycho-spiritual practices, too. But many teachers and styles...
